How a project actually runs

Quotes, what I need from you, timelines, who owns the finished site and where my responsibility stops. Read it before you sign anything, and ask where it is unclear.

What this page covers

These terms describe how a project with Sul Digital works. A message through the site is the start of a conversation, not a contract: work begins when you accept a quote in writing, and the quote then sets out the scope, the price and the dates for that particular job.

Quotes

A quote lists what is included, what is not, and how long the price holds. It stays valid for 30 days. If the brief changes after that, the quote is revised rather than quietly exceeded.

What I need from you

Text, photographs, logos and any account access you can hand over, plus decisions when they are asked for. You confirm that material you send is yours to give, or that you have permission to use it. Delays in approvals are the most common reason a project slips, so a quick answer is worth more than a perfect one.

Timelines

A typical website takes 2–3 weeks from the day the content and the first payment land. Anything bigger, or anything waiting on a third party such as a domain transfer or a booking system, is stated in the quote rather than guessed at.

Payment

Projects are paid in stages, with a deposit before work starts. The deposit, the stages and the payment method are written on your quote, and nothing is invoiced that was not agreed there.

If a stage goes unpaid, work pauses at that point rather than continuing on trust.

Who owns the finished site

Once the final invoice is paid, the website, its design and the text written for it are yours. Hosting, domain names and any subscription you pay for are in your name, not mine, so the site keeps running whichever of us is at fault.

I keep the right to show the finished work in my portfolio and in case studies, with a link to your site. If you would rather it stayed quiet, say so before we start and it stays off.

Hosting and third-party services

The site runs on a hosting platform, and services such as domains, WhatsApp, booking tools or contact forms are run by other companies. Their own terms and prices apply to those parts, and I will tell you which ones are involved before they go live.

Limits of responsibility

I take care with the work and fix what I break. Beyond that, my responsibility for a project is limited to the fees paid for it, and it does not cover lost profits, lost enquiries or a drop in search rankings, since nobody can promise those. Nothing here limits liability that Portuguese law says cannot be limited.

No shopping basket

Nothing is sold on this website, so there is no cart and no returns policy. If packages are ever sold online, the 14-day right of withdrawal that Portuguese consumer law requires for distance sales will be explained on the page where you buy.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the work changes. A quote you have already accepted keeps the terms that were in place when you accepted it. Questions about any of this: hello@sul-digital.com.
